Submitted by James on Fri, 15/10/2021 - 16:50 In the run up to Christmas 2021 Gordon Day will again be running his successful eight-week online programme The World of Jesus. First run during Eastertide this year, the programme draws from Gordon's experience of leading pilgrimage groups to Israel and Palestine over the past 30 years and gives insight into the historal and geographical context of Jesus' ministry. Asking the questions, 'what can we discover about people and places associated with Jesus’ ministry?' and, 'what intriguing historical and geographical features are available?', participents will explore remarkable recent archaeological discoveries, and benefit from additional non-biblical contemporary records. Over eight sessions Gordon will uncover the following locations thorugh slide presentations, small group discussion and a plenary question time: Nazareth; Sea of Galilee; The Decapolis; Samaria; The Jordan Valley; The Coastal Plain; Judaea; Jerusalem. Gordon Dey will lead and Revd Janice Smith will host the event.
